Medical Coder Supervisor

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of medical coders, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and providing feedback.
  • Ensure coding practices adhere to relevant coding guidelines, regulations, and standards, such as ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology).
  • Implement quality assurance measures to identify and address coding errors, discrepancies, and trends.
  • Develop and maintain coding performance metrics to track productivity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Develop and update coding policies, procedures, and documentation guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.

Required Skills:

  • Primary requirement: 2 years of Managerial/Team Lead experience (must be related to Medical Coding)
  • Preferably with Medical Coding Experience/Certified Medical Coder and Strong Leadership Experience handling Medical Coding Team/LOBs
  • Even without medical coding certification but with at least 2 years Managerial/Team Lead experience
  • Must have – at least INTERMEDIATE in MS Office.
